Dumaguete, officially known as the City of Dumaguete, is a component city located in the Philippines. It serves as the capital of the province of Negros Oriental and is recognized as one of the two regional centers within the Negros Island Region.
According to the 2024 census, the city has a population of 142,171 people. It holds the distinction of being both the most populous city and the smallest city by land area in the province of Negros Oriental.
