Santa Praxedes is a city located in the Philippines. The name refers to Saint Praxedes, also known as "a Roman maiden," who was a saint and virgin during the 2nd century in the Roman Empire.
Praxedes lived alongside her sister, Pudentiana, where they provided for the poor and offered care and comfort to persecuted Christians and martyrs. Her veneration began in the 4th century, leading to many churches being dedicated in her honor.
