Quezon, officially known as the Province of Quezon, is a province located in the Calabarzon region on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. Historically, the area was known as Kalilayan upon its creation in 1591 and was later renamed Tayabas by the 18th century before adopting its current name in 1946. The province is named after Manuel L. Quezon, who served as the president of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944.
Lucena serves as the provincial capital and is the most populous city within the province, though it is governed separately as a highly urbanized city. To distinguish the area from Quezon City, it is frequently referred to as Quezon Province.
