San Fabian is a city located in the Philippines.

The name San Fabian is also associated with Pope Fabian, who served as the bishop of Rome and head of the Catholic Church from January 10, 236, until his death on January 20, 250. He succeeded Anterus and was eventually succeeded by Cornelius.

According to tradition, a dove is said to have descended on Pope Fabian's head to signify that he was the Holy Spirit's unexpected choice to become the next pope.
