Rosario, officially known as the Autonomous City of Rosario, is a major city located in central Argentina within the southern region of the Santa Fe province. It is situated on the west bank of the Paraná River, approximately 300 km (186 mi) northwest of Buenos Aires. As the country's third-most populous city following Buenos Aires and Córdoba, it serves as a significant urban center with an estimated population of 1,750,000 in its metropolitan area as of 2020.

The city is noted for its diverse architectural heritage, featuring well-preserved neoclassical, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco styles across hundreds of public buildings and private residences. Rosario is also recognized as the birthplace of notable figures including revolutionary Marxist Che Guevara and professional footballer Lionel Messi.
