The zebu is a species or subspecies of domestic cattle that originated in South Asia. Also known as indicine cattle or humped cattle, these animals are distinct from taurine cattle due to specific physical characteristics, including a fatty hump on their shoulders, a large dewlap, and occasionally drooping ears.
