Wabag is the capital city of Enga Province, located in Papua New Guinea. Situated along the Lai River, it serves as a key point along the Highlands Highway, which connects the towns of Mount Hagen and Porgera.
The town is notable for being the least populous provincial capital in the country. While Europeans first visited the site between 1938 and 1939 to establish a radio camp and airstrip, development was historically hindered by land infertility and transportation restrictions.
