Bulolo is a town located in the Bulolo Urban LLG of Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. It is situated on the Bulolo River, which serves as a tributary to the Markham River, approximately 32 kilometers (20 miles) northwest of Wau.
Historically, the town served as an important gold dredging center during the era of the former Territory of New Guinea. The area is also home to Bulolo Airport; its airstrip was originally constructed in June 1930 with dimensions of 1,150 yards by 120 yards. As of 2010, the town had an estimated population of 20,000.
