Goroka

Goroka is the capital city of the Eastern Highlands Province in Papua New Guinea. Situated at an elevation of 1,600 meters above sea level, it serves as a regional hub with a population of approximately 29,333 people as of 2021.

The town is located on the Highlands Highway, positioned about 285 km from Lae in Morobe Province and 90 km from the nearby town of Kainantu. It is also situated near Kundiawa in Simbu Province and Mount Hagen in Western Highlands Province. Goroka features an airport and is characterized by a mild climate often described as a "perpetual Spring."
