Juliaca

Juliaca is the capital city of the San Román Province located in the Puno Region of southeastern Peru. Situated on the Altiplano at an elevation of 3,825 metres (12,549 ft) above sea level, it sits on the Collao Plateau northwest of Lake Titicaca. The city is positioned near Chachas Lake, the Maravillas river, and the ruins of Sillustani.

As the largest city in the Puno Region, Juliaca has a population of 276,110 inhabitants as of 2017. It serves as the primary trade center for the region.
