Lajas Blancas is a corregimiento located in the Cémaco District within the Comarca Emberá region of Panama. It was officially established by Law 22 on November 8, 1983.
The population of Lajas Blancas has seen significant growth over recent decades. According to census data, the population was 2,662 in 1990 and remained steady at 2,638 in 2000, before increasing to 9,390 by 2010.
