Las Cumbres is a corregimiento located in the Panamá District of the Panamá Province in Panama. Situated north of Panama City at an average altitude of 1,050 feet (320 meters), the area features a temperate and cooler environment compared to the surrounding region. The community was originally developed by businessman Louis Martinz during the 1950s as a rural residential area.
The neighborhood is characterized by its inclusion of various sectors, such as Villa Campestre, El Lago, Las Cumbrecitas, and San Andrés, among others. It features two constructed lakes intended for recreation and selective water supply. Historically, the community developed as a middle-class residential area home to prominent members of Panamanian society, including professionals in fields such as science, medicine, engineering, business, and politics.
While the area has experienced some encroachment by poverty-stricken neighborhoods over time, it is noted for maintaining much of its original charm and attractions. Census data indicates a fluctuating population, with 92,519 residents recorded in 2000 and 32,867 reported in 2010.
