Flores is an island located in the eastern half of Indonesia as part of the Lesser Sunda Islands group. It serves as the largest island within the East Nusa Tenggara Province, covering a total land area of 14,250 square kilometers.

The name Flores is derived from Portuguese origin and translates to "Flowers." The region's population was recorded at 1,878,875 in the 2020 Census, with an official estimate reaching approximately 2,014,110 by mid-2024. This figure includes the populations of the neighboring Komodo and Rinca islands located off its west coast.

The primary urban centers on the island are the towns of Ende and Maumere.
