Coclé is a province located on the southern coast of central Panama. The administrative capital of the province is the city of Penonomé. It covers a total area of 4,946.6 km² and had a recorded population of 268,264 in 2023.
The region was originally established as the Department of Coclé on September 12, 1855, during the presidency of Dr. Justo de Arosemena, before being officially designated as a province by Decretory Number 190 on October 20, 1985. The economy is primarily agricultural, with sugar and tomatoes serving as the major crops.
In recent years, Coclé has seen an increase in tourist activity due to its numerous well-known beaches, including Santa Clara, Farallon, and Rio Hato.
