Potrerillos Arriba

Panama

Potrerillos Arriba is a town located in the Chiriquí province of Panama. It is situated near the city of David and the mountain known as Volcán Barú. The area is divided into two distinct towns: Potrerillos Arriba, which means "upper," and Potrerillos Abajo, which means "lower."

The name "Potrerillos" translates to "Little Pastures." This designation originates from numerous stone walls built by the indigenous population several centuries ago. These walls were constructed through forced labor under the direction of Spanish settlers to create pastures for cattle.
