Cañas Gordas is a corregimiento located in the Renacimiento District of the Chiriquí Province in Panama. It covers a total land area of 60.8 square kilometres (23.5 sq mi).
The region has experienced steady population growth over recent decades. As of 1990, the population was 2,448, increasing to 2,682 by the year 2000. By 2010, the population reached 3,090, resulting in a population density of approximately 50.8 inhabitants per square kilometre (132/sq mi).
