Yaldhurst is a semi-rural suburb located on the western outskirts of Christchurch, New Zealand. It serves as a residential area situated outside the primary urban center of the city.
The name of the suburb originates from a horse owned by Frederick William Delamain (1835–1910), a settler and horse breeder. Delamain named the animal Yaldhurst after stables in England, and the local area was subsequently named in honor of the horse.
