Manukau City

New Zealand

Manukau City was a territorial authority district located in the Auckland region of New Zealand. It was governed by the Manukau City Council and is frequently referred to as "South Auckland," though this designation lacked official recognition and did not include areas such as East Auckland, which were also within the city boundaries.

The city was characterized by its relatively young status in terms of both legal establishment and large-scale settlement. Despite its recent development, Manukau City was the fastest-growing city in New Zealand and ranked as the third largest in the country as of June 2010. In that same year, the entire Auckland Region was amalgamated into a single city authority known as the Auckland Council.
