Bhimdatta, officially known as Bhimdatta municipality, is a city located in the Kanchanpur District of Nepal's Sudurpashchim Province. It was originally named Mahendranagar to honor the late King Mahendra of Nepal. Following Nepal's transition to a republic in 2008, the name was changed to Bhimdatta to commemorate the revolutionary farmer leader Bhimdatta Panta (1926–1953).
The municipality is situated in a region bordered by several distinct geographical and administrative landmarks. It is surrounded by Bedkot Municipality to the east, Dadeldhura District to the north, and Shuklaphanta National Park to the south. To the west, the city borders the Indian state of Uttarakhand.
