Kalikot District

Kalikot District is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal, located within the Karnali province. The district serves as a geographical administrative unit with an area covering 1,741 km2 (672 sq mi). Its administrative headquarters is situated in Manma.

Demographic data indicates that the population of the district grew from 105,580 in 2001 to 136,948 by the 2011 census. In September 2005, the government initiated a social policy within the region to encourage a change in social attitudes by providing rice to families who recently had a girl born.
