Ghorahi

Nepal

Ghorahi is a sub-metropolitan city located in the Mid-Western part of Nepal within the Lumbini Province. It serves as the largest city in both the Dang Deukhuri District of southwest Nepal and the Rapti Zone. Geographically, it is situated in the Inner Terai region, positioned approximately 413 kilometres (257 mi) south-west of Kathmandu.

The city is characterized by its surrounding landscape, bordered by the Sivalik Hills to the south and the Mahabharata Range to the north. It is currently being developed as a Counter Magnet, intended to serve as an alternative center of growth to alleviate population explosion and migration pressures in the Kathmandu metropolitan area.
