Butwal, officially known as Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City, is an economic hub located in the Lumbini Province of western Nepal. Formerly referred to as Khasyauli, the city serves as a significant center for commerce and regional activity within the province.
As of 2021, the city has a recorded population of 195,054 residents. It remains a key urban destination in West Nepal characterized by its role as a primary economic hub.
