Dhulikhel

Nepal

Dhulikhel, also known as Dhaukhya, is a municipality located in the Kavrepalanchok District of Nepal. Situated at an elevation of 1550 meters above sea level, it lies on the eastern rim of the Kathmandu Valley, approximately 30 km southeast of the capital city and 74 km southwest of the border town of Kodari.

The town serves as the district headquarters and is a significant transit point where two major highways intersect: the B.P. Highway and the Araniko Highway. The latter provides a primary connection between Kathmandu and the Tibetan border at Kodari. The local population is predominantly Newar, though the outer areas of the municipality are also inhabited by Brahmin, Chhettri, Tamang, and Dalit communities.
