Siraha is a city and municipality located in the Siraha District of Nepal's Madhesh Province. Situated at an altitude of 80 metres (260 ft), the town is positioned approximately 29 kilometres (18 mi) east-southeast of Janakpur.
The municipality serves as the headquarters for the district. According to census data, its population grew from 28,442 in 2011 to 96,543 by 2022, with a female population of 49,237 and a male population of 47,306. The current local government leadership consists of Mayor Arman Siddiqui and Deputy Mayor Babita Kumari Sah, who assumed office on May 25, 2022.
