Nepal

Birgunj is a metropolitan city located in the Parsa District of Madhesh Province in southern Nepal. It is situated approximately 135 km south of the national capital, Kathmandu, and shares a northern border with Raxaul in the Indian state of Bihar.

The city serves as a vital economic hub and is frequently referred to as the "Gateway of Nepal" due to its role as a primary entry point from Patna. It is also known as the "Commercial Capital of Nepal," as the majority of the country's trade with India occurs through Birgunj and Raxaul. The Tribhuvan Highway provides the primary overland link connecting the city to Kathmandu.
