Biratnagar is the capital and largest city of the easternmost Koshi Province in Nepal. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Morang District.

The city is characterized by its rapid growth, being noted as one of the fastest-growing urban centers in the region. According to the 2021 census, Biratnagar had a population of 244,750 residents.
