Svelgen is a village and the administrative centre of Bremanger Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is situated at the eastern end of the Nordgulen fjord and sits at the mouth of the Svelgselva river.
The local area features several notable landmarks, including the Svelgen Chapel, which serves as the community's church under the national Church of Norway. Additionally, the Bortne Tunnel is located approximately 8 kilometres north of the village, providing a road connection to the northern regions of the municipality.
