Balestrand is a former municipality located in the traditional district of Sogn in Vestland county, Norway. It served as an administrative center for its own territory from 1850 until it was dissolved in 2020. The area now forms part of the larger Sogndal Municipality.
The former municipality covered a total area of 429 square kilometres (166 sq mi). In addition to the village of Balestrand, the region included several other villages, including Ese, Kvamme, Låne, Sæle, Dragsviki, and Vetlefjorden.
