Fagernes is a town located in the Nord-Aurdal Municipality within the Innlandet county of Norway. It serves as the administrative center for its municipality and functions as the primary urban and commercial hub for the Valdres region.
The town covers an area of approximately 2 square kilometers (490 acres) and has a population of 1,983 as of 2024. It is situated just northwest of the village of Leira and roughly 5 kilometres south of the village of Skrautvål.
