Langesund is the administrative centre of Bamble Municipality, located in the Telemark county of Norway. The town is situated on a peninsula along the Langesundsfjorden near the Skaggerak coast.
Established as a ladested in 1765, the town covers an area of approximately 0.88 square kilometres (220 acres). It became a self-governing municipality on January 1, 1838, before being incorporated into Bamble Municipality in 1964. The nearby town of Stathelle is located roughly 4 kilometres to the northwest.
