Ålesund is a town located in the Møre og Romsdal county of Norway. It serves as the administrative center for Ålesund Municipality.
The central part of the town is situated on the islands of Hessa, Aspøya, and Nørve. Newer developments are located on the island of Uksenøya, while the outer edges of the urban area extend onto the neighboring island of Sula in Sula Municipality.
