Kolbotn is an urban area situated in Norway's Nordre Follo municipality within Akershus county. It is positioned in the center of the traditional district known as Oppegård and has a population of approximately 6,000 residents.
The town is geographically located at the end of Kolbotnelva, a river. Regarding its educational infrastructure, Kolbotn contains several elementary schools, four middle schools, and one high school.
