Hardenberg is a city and municipality located in the province of Overijssel in the north-eastern region of the Netherlands. The municipality shares borders with the neighboring province of Drenthe as well as an international border with Germany.
The population of the Hardenberg municipality is 63,895. While Hardenberg serves as a primary location, Dedemsvaart is the second largest population center within the municipality, and Gramsbergen is the only other city in the area.
