Dalfsen is a town and municipality located in the Salland region of the Dutch province of Overijssel. It serves as a local administrative center within this specific geographic area of the Netherlands.
The current municipality was formed on January 1, 2001, through the merger of the former municipalities of Nieuwleusen and Dalfsen. A segment of the local population speaks various dialects known as Sallands.
