Almelo is a municipality and city located in the eastern region of the Netherlands. Situated within the rolling countryside of Twente, it serves as one of the primary population centers for the area alongside the villages of Aadorp, Mariaparochie, and Bornerbroek.
The city has a population of approximately 75,000 inhabitants. It is positioned near the industrial hubs of Enschede and Hengelo, while also maintaining proximity to several tourist towns, including Ootmarsum, Delden, and Markelo.
