Schiedam is a town and municipality located in the western part of the Netherlands. It is situated within the Rotterdam–The Hague metropolitan area, positioned west of Rotterdam, east of Vlaardingen, and south of Delft.
In its southern region, Schiedam is connected to the village of Pernis through the Benelux tunnel.
