Maarssen is a town located in the central region of the Netherlands within the province of Utrecht. It is situated along the river Vecht and the Amsterdam–Rhine Canal.
The area of Maarssen is composed of two primary localities: Maarssen-broek to the west and Maarssen-Dorp to the east. These two sections, along with several other small nearby towns, constitute the broader municipality.
