Leerdam is a city located in the western Netherlands. It was formerly an independent municipality that served as part of the province of South Holland.
On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Leerdam merged with the municipalities of Vianen and Zederik. This merger resulted in the creation of a new municipality named Vijfheerenlanden, which is situated within the province of Utrecht.
