Hilversum is a city and municipality located in the province of North Holland in the Netherlands. Situated in the heart of the Gooi region, it serves as the largest urban center in that area.
The city is part of the Amsterdam metropolitan area and the Randstad, one of Europe's largest conurbations. It is positioned approximately 22 km southeast of Amsterdam's city center and about 15 km north of Utrecht. The surrounding landscape consists of heathland, woods, meadows, lakes, and smaller towns.
