Tongelre is a borough located in the city of Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Historically, it functioned as an independent village situated to the east of Eindhoven before being incorporated into the city.
The geography of Tongelre is defined largely by its waterways, which form the majority of its borders. To the south, the borough is bounded by the Eindhovensch Kanaal, separating it from the borough of Stratum and the municipality of Geldrop. The northwestern border with the Woensel borough is defined by the Dommel river, while the eastern boundary toward the municipality of Nuenen is formed by the Kleine Dommel.
