Nuenen

The Netherlands

Nuenen is a town located in the municipality of Nuenen, Gerwen en Nederwetten in the Netherlands. As of 2009, the town had a recorded population of 22,437 residents.

The town is historically notable as the place where the artist Vincent van Gogh lived and worked from 1883 to 1885. Additionally, Nuenen was the site of a battle during Operation Market Garden in 1944. The local dialect spoken in the area is known as Peellands.
