Veendam is a town and municipality situated in the province of Groningen in the northeastern region of the Netherlands. It has a population of 27,752 residents and is also commonly referred to by the name Parkstad.
The municipality is located along the N33 national highway, which serves as a primary transit route connecting Eemshaven to Assen.
