Apeldoorn is a city and municipality located in the province of Gelderland in the central region of the Netherlands. As of December 1, 2021, the municipality had a total population of 165,525 people. The administrative area includes several villages, specifically Beekbergen, Loenen, Ugchelen, and Hoenderloo.

The geography of the municipality is characterized by distinct regional features. The western half of Apeldoorn lies on the Veluwe ridge, while the eastern portion is situated within the IJssel valley.
