Hoogeveen is a town and municipality located in the southern part of the Dutch province of Drenthe. It shares a provincial border with the neighboring province of Overijssel.
The municipality has a population of 56,897 as of 2025, with 40,560 residents living specifically within the town of Hoogeveen. Hollandscheveld serves as the second largest population center in the municipality.
