Masaya

Nicaragua

Masaya is the capital city of the Masaya Department in Nicaragua. It is situated approximately 14 km west of Granada and 31 km southeast of the national capital, Managua. The city is located just east of the Masaya Volcano, an active volcanic peak from which the municipality derives its name.

With an estimated population of 138,657 as of 2022, Masaya ranks as the fourth most populous city in Nicaragua. It is culturally recognized by the moniker "City of Flowers."
