Zole is a trick-taking cooperative card game originating from Latvia. It is designed for three to five players and belongs to the Schafkopf group of ace–ten games, which are characterized by jacks and queens serving as permanent trumps.
The game is played using only 26 cards from either a 32-card piquet deck or a standard French-style deck of 36 cards. To achieve the required number of cards, either six or ten cards are removed from the deck and kept out of play during a session. Official rules and terminology for the game were formally published by the Latvian Zole Game Federation (LZSF) in 1996.
