Shinkafi is a Local Government Area located in the Zamfara State of Nigeria. The area covers approximately 674 km2 (260 mi2) and has a recorded population of 135,649. The administrative headquarters for the region is situated in the town of Shinkafi.
The local government area shares geographical boundaries with several neighboring regions, including the Niger Republic and Isa Local Government Area to the north, Zurmi Local Government Area to the south and south-east, and Maradun and Raba Local Government Areas to the west. It is located roughly 116 km from the state capital, Gusau.
