Sokoto

Sokoto is a state in the extreme northwest of Nigeria, serving as one of the country's 36 states. It is bordered by the Republic of Niger to the north and west, Zamfara State to the east, and Kebbi State to the south and west, with parts of the border crossing the Ka River.

The city of Sokoto serves as the state's capital and largest urban center. Geographically, the region is situated near the confluence of the Rima River and the Sokoto River. As of 2022, the state has an estimated population exceeding 6.3 million people.
