Riyom is a Local Government Area located in Plateau State, Nigeria. The administrative headquarters for the region is situated in the town of Riyom, which lies to the north of the area at coordinates 9°38′00″N 8°46′00″E.
The local government area was officially established on October 1, 1996. It was carved out of the former Barkin Ladi Local Government Area by the Federal Military Government of General Sani Abacha.
