Akwete

Akwete is a town located in Nigeria that serves as the headquarters of the Ukwa East local government area in Abia state. Geographically, it is situated approximately 18 kilometres northeast of Port Harcourt and 18 kilometres southeast of Aba.

The community is primarily inhabited by the Ndoki people and the Igbo people at large, specifically belonging to the Umuihueze II clan. Akwete is notably recognized throughout West Africa for its unique weaving traditions.
